The Edwin range is inspired by the Brutalist architecture movement of the 50s-70s. Brutalism often involved heavy, block like shapes made with strong materials in order to create buildings that were sturdy in look and design, yet that still had an air of unconventional beauty to them. One such building is the Trellick Tower, designed by Erno Goldfinger, and situated in the distinguished district of Chelsea. It was completed in 1972 after the Greater London Council commissioned it, bringing a new stark style to the classic aesthetic of the neighbourhood. As such, it has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and music videos for quintessential British bands like Blur; largely due to its strong presence and unmistakable design.
